Rainy Days...

It has been some much welcomed rain the last four days here by everyone, except maybe Jacob.  Having a toddler couped up in the house for four days makes for a very irritable child come the fifth day!! I should start by saying that the rain was not just a little drizzle, but almost a non stop downpour for the whole time!! Here's a little fact for you...in the last four days, Folsom Lake's water level has risen by 14 feet!!! So, needless to say, there was no breaks in the weather for a quick bike ride or a park visit. However, we have been to the library almost everyday!! The rain makes us intellectual! We have been reading a lot too!! Brayden is starting to love it!!! He just stares and drools, but if you take it away he starts scream crying, lol! It also makes for lots of cuddles, hot beverages, and movies. It seems that two movies are on loop in this house lately, Nemo and Thomas! I can't complain about Nemo, but man Thomas is getting old!! (On a side note...how cute is Brayden in the above picture!?!?!?)

Here's Jacob and I after nap time (for the both of us, if you couldn't tell).  He loves cuddling on our new big chair.

Here is the reader!! He seems to be extra fond of animal books! (He sat there for 20 minutes that day)

This is how our lunches have been looking lately. Jacob watches Nemo on the ipad while Brayden watches him watching Nemo. Let's face it, Jacob wants a personal fan watching him do everything!

As much as this rain is messing with my toddlers playtime and my backyard plans...I know it is much needed and I could not be more thankful that it is finally here!! Hopefully it is here to stay for a while!

We're BACK!!!

It only took one year and many "fans" asking for our return to the blog world, for me to actually write a new one. What can I say... the last 13 months months have been insane!!! Why didn't anyone warn me that having a child would completely change my life?!?!? LOL Some big things have happened in the last 13 months, let me catch you up on the highlights... Jacob sat up, Jacob crawled, Jacob tried food for the first time, Jacob stood by himself, Jacob walked, Jacob's first word was "ball," Jacob started running, Jacob goes to Gymboree, Jacob learns to say "Dadda, Grandpa, Noni, Kiki, and Matt Matt" but obviously not mommy, and finally Jacob learned how to give kisses. Now that you are caught up on my life for the last year, aren't you semi glad I didn't make ALL those posts. Here are some pictures to catch you up on how Jacob has changed over the year...

The pumpkin picture is my ALL time favorite picture ever!!

Now that you are all caught up on who has been taking up most of our time... here are some updates on Mike and I's life.  We've lived in three different places, finally ending up moving to Rocklin. Yup, we are no longer in the bay area! As shocking as it is to be away from our family and friends (besides Gabby & Jason) and living on the "sun," we are truly enjoying being a family again. Having the capability to see Mike and Jacob everyday is priceless. Mike is going to to be starting a new job in the fall at a private school, teaching K-8!! I would love to be a fly on the wall watching him teach kindergartners!! Jacob is adjusting to the new house fairly well, he sleeps until nine now, so that is awesome. But I know he misses his family. He constantly talks about Kiki (Kim), Matt Matt, and baby (Everett). My next post will show you our house (its pretty amazing). So lots of changes have happened and lots of changes will come this next year too!!

21st Century

First I would like to note that writing a blog everyday is a lot harder than it seems.  I didn't realize that without working life can actually get.... well boring.  Not that I am complaining because I do feel much better.  Even my Dad noticed! The other day he said " Wow, you have color in your cheeks again!" LOL.  So yes getting pulled out of work was the best thing for me.  Anyways, staying at home has allowed me to start a lot of life changes.  While we have been getting ready for Jacob's arrival, I have decided that I needed to step my game up as a mother. Well at least in the technology department.  I am now the proud owner of a fancy camera (16 mega pixels and HD movie capability) and an iPhone 4s! Yup the one that talks to you (which is completely unnecessary, but fun none the less). Everyone has made fun of me for the last year because my phone still had buttons, but I never realized how bad it was until I handed my phone to the Sprint guy and he actually chuckled!! Anyways it is nice to join everyone else in the 21st century... I will see you all on Scramble with Friends, Words with Friends, and Hanging with Friends! (Cause really let's face it, that is why we all own one of these things!)

Poly-pharmacy

So as some of you may know I have been sick for about a month now... I was taking my medicine this morning and realized that I have aged about 60 years in the last month.  I have never taken so many meds in my life!!! Although I am feeling a little better... and no pneumonia, it is a little disconcerning having to take so many meds and not magically feel better.  Every night I go to sleep and tell Mike to be Harry Potter and make me feel better...yet it hasn't happened :0( But the update is that I am finally out of bed and feeling about 70 percent...so YAY, I guess...

Spring Cleaning in Winter

So this picture is of my side of the bed in our bedroom...I realize that we are moving in a month, but at what point does it become so messy that you have to clean? I can't even get into bed from my side!!!  The second problem is that the cats have decided that this is their fort, which they decide to play in all through the night.  If you notice the HP box (the colorful one) is flipped over... well thats because there is a cat stuck in there, meowing of course!! The flat box on the left side is their slide.  Anyways this picture reflects the rest of our house too.  So I spent the day cleaning... there was definitely times through out the day that I thought of pulling a Kim (not cleaning until you move)...lol!!! Sorry Kimmy I just couldn't hold off for another month and a half!!
