Jacob- isms

Over the last couple of months we have had some of the most hilarious conversations with Jacob, known to man lol. His vocabulary is just crazy!!! He is really talking in complete sentences. which most of the time is great thing!! However, I must say that he is getting very good at justifying why he does not want to do certain things, which sometimes makes me think twice about his vocab ability. Most of the time comedy ensues with his statements...

So this first story begins with this frog to my left. I can't remember who got this for the boys, but we just recently pulled it out. Jacob is into hiding things and having us or Brayden find them. So he went and hid the frog in our room while we were all in his room...

J: Came running into his room saying "Momma! Daddy! Come look at the frog! He's talking nonsense!!"

A: "Your frog is talking nonsense?"

J: "Momma come look at it! He's talking nonsense!"

Both Mike and I were almost in tears because we were laughing so hard! What was awesome, was the amazing dance party that came after that. That will be the next post!

Mike took Jacob to his Halloween carnival at school last weekend (notice no pictures with this, that's because Mike didn't take any!) Jacob got a balloon sword to take home...

M: "Jacob don't let the balloon touch the ground because it will pop."

(Jacob touches the balloon to the ground and it popped)

J: With tears in his eyes, "Oh no daddy! My sword turned into a snail!"

The picture to the right is just so cute, and another example of how good a big brother Jacob is...

When I came outside to take this photo Jacob said...

"Momma, I'm taking care of my baby!"

My heart grew a 1,000 times over!

Recently, we got a new car seat for Jacob because Brayden has grown so much, that we needed to rotate everyone. So, Jacob is now forward facing (eeek!), but it has allowed for increased conversations in the car. Yesterday, when I picked him up from school, we got their report cards. Jacob was sitting in back.

J: "Momma can I have that mail?"

A: "Sure!" (hand it to him)

J: "Momma, can you give me glasses, so I can read?"

A: "I don't have glasses."

J: " Okay. Can we go put this mail in the post box?"

One of my favorite things that Jacob talks about, is his family members. He randomly just brings people up... I'm not sure what triggers his memory, but it is very funny!

While playing in the play room... "Momma, can Grandpa Chris come over? I love Grandpa Chris."

In the car on the way to school...
A: "Jacob I love you! Brayden I love you!"

J: "I love Brayden too! I love my daddy. I love my papa Eddie. I love my Grandpa Dayton. I love my Noni."

Coming down the stairs...

A:"Jacob do you want waffles for breakfast?"

J: "I want pancakes. Grandma Jen and Tutu like pancakes too! They come over and eat with me?"

I love this kid!!! And seeing him grow into this little boy has been amazing!!! I can't wait to see what the future brings!

Paparazzi

As a mother, I sometimes feel like I am the paparazzi when it comes to my children. I find it actually quite hilarious that at the ripe old age of 18 months, Jacob started saying "cheese" when I held up a camera! Gabby and I get especially crazy with new activities ( I would say Gabby more than I...lol).  However, all the photos that we have taken have started to reveal a trend. Between the two blogs, I kept noticing photos that included Jacob in the foreground "mean mugging" (I will call it that) and Memo in the back ground "posing."  I couldn't help but think of People Magazine. So, here is my version of People Magazine, lets call it Tikes Magazine...

Here the couple is seen trying to meet in secret at the rail road tracks... once photographers were spotted, they tried to leave the scene.

Here, the couple was spotted in downtown Roseville in Jacob's flashy 2008 ladybug convertible.

With rumors of the couple's relationship on the rocks, Jacob lashes out at the photographers. Memo tries to put on a brave face for the cameras, but to no avail.

In Jacob's blue 2011 Push Me Trike, Memo shows that the two are still very close. Maybe this relationship does have enough to survive toddler hood!

Jacob still not comfortable with all the fame, continues to stay protective of Memo in font of photographers, whereas Memo is always willing to oblige and strikes a great smile for her adoring fans.

With a rare glimpse into the couples personal life in the trampoline, Jacob remains leery, while Memo strike a pose.

Feeling relaxed at the local Roseville library yoga studio. Jacob provides the cameras with a rare smile, while Memo focus on her workout.

Pancake House Marathon

Two of Jacob's aunties ran a marathon this weekend.  It was their first one and they trained really hard for it!! We are all very proud of Auntie Towee and Auntie Beeze!!! Apparently Jacob really wanted to show them his support by having a marathon of his own. His marathon did not involve running or any physical activity for that matter...it involved eating. This Sunday morning we decided to go out to breakfast as a family, to our local favorite breakfast place, The Pancake House. We got there about 9:30ish thinking that we could be home for most of the Niner game. We had no idea that at 11:00 we would still be sitting at the table.  Most people would think that it took so long because of the service... nope!!! Our child was just eating for that long!!!
He had 2 pancakes, 1 1/2 sausages, some eggs, and almost all his milk.

He really enjoys the process of eating... stopping to read, saying hi to his table neighbors, or just leaning back to take a breather from his wonderful food.

I was unable to catch the true face of Mike at the table. When Jacob asked for "more pancake?" Mike had the most shocked face!! I couldn't stop laughing!!!

When we arrived the resteraunt was completely full with a line waiting outside... this is what it looked like when we left. The waiter was even impressed with Jacob. I think he may be destined to be a food critic...although I am not sure there is any food he does not like!

The Best Sound in the World...

As many of you know, I am anxiously awaiting milestones to be accomplished by Jacob.  The rolling over is a big one for me, but he just does not seem to be interested.  Well, my favorite milestone happened a couple weeks ago...his laugh.  It is the best sound in the world!! Granted I think my mom is the one who makes him laugh the hardest (that's because she is the goofiest), but he will do it for Mike and I sometimes. I can hold off on the rolling over as long as I can hear this laugh everyday...

I just think this is the best video ever!! I seriously cannot stop watching it.  If your having a bad day, just watch this video.

Car Seat/Stroller

Thanks to Chris and Sue our car seat and stroller combo arrived on our doorstep last weekend. It is extremely fancy, the Chicco Fit 30! Whoo hoo! Anyways, as most already parents know, some assembly is required on almost all baby stuff.  Mike is in his nesting mode and was very excited to put it together, which was comical to watch, to say the least. Some of the best quotes from Mike were as follows:
1. "I feel like everything is connected, so how is it supposed to come apart?!?" (this was after about 5 minutes struggling to unfold the stroller after getting it out of the box.)
2. After looking for the directions for  10 minutes..."Oh that's a great idea! What genius decided to put the directions in the middle of the stroller where its all folded up!!"
3. While putting on the wheels..." Wouldn't it look cool if there were spinners on these wheels?"
4. "I am gonna practice folding and unfolding it, so I look like a cool Dad."
Needless to say, it was a fun day to watch Mike put it together... and I tried to show off to everyone about how easy it is to put up and down and of course I had to ask Mike for help... go figure!

Baloo was of course helpful the whole time.  He really focused on the box to help out.
And here is the finished product!! (1.5 hours later) Good job Mikey!!

Funny Pictures

I recently started to notice that when we all take pictures for an event or something that we set aside the "bad ones"... well I decided that some of these "bad ones" are actually the best ones!! The saying is that a picture is worth a thousand words... well these pictures are worth more than a thousand.  I began my search of my library to find a couple of photos...however there is a lot more than a couple.  So on slow blog days I have decided to show you these awesomely hilarious photos... so you have some sort of entertainment at work ;0) We will just start with a few random photos...
Here is Molly and Kim... so hungry for s'mores they can't even put it down for a picture
Okay, now this photo is extremely awkward... but to know Dayton's sense of humor is to love Dayton. Although I do love how terrified both boys look...lol
To justify my face in this picture... I thought sense it was being taken in that sienna or whatever its called... I thought I should embrace my John Wayne side!!
