4 weeks of Baby Jacob
Okay well its not all the pictures we have taken, but I thought it would be a cool way to see how he has grown so much already!! As my dad said, "I can finally start seeing what his face is gonna look like." Not that any of us really know who he looks like...I think he is a nice blend of the two of us. But here are some pictures over the last four weeks!!
Mommy Hair
Okay so now that I am a mom, my styling abilities have completely tanked, to say the least. I am living in sweatpants and a ponytail everyday. Not that I am complaining much because really we do not leave the house unless its for a walk or to family member's houses. But as our month in quarantine is quickly approaching the end, I have decided to step my game up and become a put together looking mom! So where was my resource? Of course pinterest!! I found a way to do awesome curls without heat and making your shoulders sore (Sam this ones for you!). I will put the link to the video at the bottom, so you can see a real girl do it. But here was my experience...
These are the two things I used... You really don't need spray, but I like the way it smells. Anyways make sure hair is completely dry and you can spray whatever you want into it.
This is the before...my hair is normally not this curly when I wake up, but I promise that had no effect on this process.
Put hairband on hippie style and tuck the hair up and around...it ends up being an up do.
The back view...before you take it out you can spray with hairspray (especially if your hair does not hold curl)
I did loose curls (just didn't tuck the hair in tightly) in this picture, but when mike and I went out I did tight curls and it looked super good!
It takes about 5-10 minutes to tuck in and then you leave it in over night...or if your home all day like me and plan on going out that night, just leave it in during the day for sometime.
Here is the link that better explains it

Professional Photos...
This is one of my favorites because he does this look all the time! It's like he is so shocked to discover something new...LOL. It cracks me up!
At just shy of two weeks we did a professional photo shoot of Jacob as a newborn. We used the same people as we did for our pregnancy photos, and again they turned out better than I could have imagined!! Hopefully we will be getting birth announcements out this weekend or early next week, but these samples should hold you off for a while ;0)
Of course I had to drive back for my wedding ring... but I am glad I did because I love this photo!
My favorite picture by far!!
So whomever wants a CD of all the photos, we can definitely get that to you. Be warned there are A LOT!!! But that way you can print the ones you want.

He's Here!!!
Jacob Matthew Wood, 9.15lbs and 21.5 inches long. Just to prove his size, take a look at the scale!!
Well now that Jacob is three weeks old, I thought I would blog about it :0). Motherhood keeps you quite busy I must say. Anyways, our little boy arrived on Feb. 28th at 12:28pm. Although I was induced because he was a week late, he came rather fast! I was only in labor for 13 hours and pushed for only 45 minutes. I thought the birth experience was going to be much worse, but with an epidural it was nothing. However, post partum hasn't treated me as nicely. LOL. Here are so pictures from that day... I only have a few because Tori of course took most of them and she has been a little busy with life lately, so I will blog those when I get them. Obviously some photos have been censored for my sake...lol.
Mike cut the chord, but that picture was a little much. I think he is cutting it again this picture.
The first time I held him...if you notice the umbilical chord, its huge!! It took mike a couple tries to cut it! I guess that's why Jacob was so big!! LOL
Mike's first time holding Jacob. Obviously a very proud Daddy!
Here is his close up...a little swollen, but perfect!!

I am READY!!!
But apparently baby Jacob is not :0( As my online tracker indicates, Today is the Day!! Well, it's supposed to be anyways. There seems to be no signs of him coming soon, which is a bummer. However with Mike's team making the playoffs, with the first game being tomorrow, I do hope he will hold out until tomorrow night...say 930 pm. Yeah I get that I have no control of this situation, but I really want the team to do well... gosh I am such a wonderful wife :0). Well I think tomorrow I turn into a pumpkin, so at least the fruit will change...lol. I guess it's about focusing on the little things right now while I am waiting. Anyways, just thought I would give the blogging world an update.
In the mean time I have also kept myself entertained by practicing my Moby Wrapping. Now for those of you who don't know what a Moby is, it is a long piece of cloth that when wrapped in a specific, semi-complicated manor, holds your baby. Well I decided to practice on Baloo. He actually really enjoyed it!!

Anyways, hopefully baby Jacob will be here soon, cause I am not sure Baloo can take much more of my nesting!! LOL

My Furry Chidren
Since Jacob should be here any day (fingers crossed), I thought I should blog a little bit about my furry children who are about to get a wake up call. When we got our cats four years ago (I can't believe its been that long!) we never thought we were cat people. They were strays and offered to us for free, so we took them in. We had no idea how much our lives would change! So it has been four years, 3 moves, two kitty surgeries, multiple shoe laces, hairbands, and pant strings eaten, 2 almost escapes, and many hours of cuddling. They have kept us laughing the whole time... here are some recent pictures as they have prepared for baby Jacob also.
So this is Bagheera post landing in Mike's hot chocolate. Bags was trying to drink the hot chocolate, so Mike tapped him on his belly. Well Bags got startled and went about one foot into the air and his back foot went fully into Mike's mug. I think Bagheera ultimately won this battle because he got to lick the chocolate off his leg for a good 20 minutes.
My next story doesn't have a picture because I was a little nervous. Baloo got into the garage and my waddling nine month pregnant butt could not catch him. Well, I tried to bribe him in with treats which didn't work. He found a sticky mouse trap which got stuck to his foot... needless to say he was panicked!! I finally got it off him, but the sticky stuff was still on his back foot. He kept sticking to the ground or if he walked over papers they just came with him. It was pretty funny.
Here are just some funny photos of them...
Needless to say we are very glad to have gotten these creatures by accident. We love them very much!

Cranberry Chuck Roast
Three recipes in one day...man the blogging world is getting a treat from the Wood Family Household!! This recipe is another on of my very spectacular crock pot concoctions. It's a cranberry chuck roast...it's super good served over mashed potatoes!! And honestly the prep time could be less than five minutes!!
Cranberry Chuck Roast
- one package of dried onion soup
- two cans of cranberry sauce (pick your favorite)
- one chuck roast
Pour the dried onion soup on the bottom of the crock pot, place the chuck roast on top, then place the cranberry sauce on top of that. Cook on low for 8 hours. Yup that is it people!! And an added bonus is that your house smells like Thanksgiving when you come home!! Enjoy!!
